Job Description

Mixbook Moldova is a place where far more than just work happens. It’s a place where our team has the opportunity to connect with each other, take creative risks, and engage with our community with the goal of achieving our mission: to empower creativity and deepen human connection.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Manual QA Engineer to join our team at Mixbook Moldova, where you'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the world of creativity and human connection. As a Senior Manual QA Engineer, you will ensure software application quality and reliability through comprehensive manual testing. You will identify and report defects, collaborate with the development team to resolve issues and contribute to improving testing processes.

We are seeking candidates based in Moldova, where a hybrid work model is available at our office in central Chisinau.

What You’ll Do
  • Detect, track, and report software defects and bugs, working closely with developers to reproduce issues and support their resolution.
  • Triage, evaluate, and prioritize discovered software defects and bugs, ensuring effective resolution in alignment with project goals.
  • Define testing scope, coverage, and timelines in collaboration with Leadership, Development, and Design teams.
  • Develop strategies and methods that bring clarity and rigor to our testing approach.
  • Regularly update and review testing documentation to reflect the latest standards and processes and ensure alignment with testing requirements.
  • Set entry and exit criteria that guarantee a smooth, effective testing process.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of relevant test cases.
  • Provide critical feedback and insights to enhance our software development lifecycle, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing with stakeholders, ensuring the product meets business needs and user expectations.
  • Evaluate and select testing tools for optimal efficiency, from cross-browser testing solutions to bug tracking and test management tools, building a toolkit that best serves the team.
What You’ll Need
  • 3+ years of experience in manual testing of web-based applications, ideally consumer-facing products.
  • Proficient in designing test plans, writing test scenarios, and translating acceptance criteria into comprehensive test cases, both positive and negative.
  • Strong knowledge of diverse testing techniques (e.g., Black Box, API, Regression, Usability, Exploratory, and Ad-Hoc Testing).
  • Experience collaborating across teams; able to explain detailed test cases and results to non-QA staff and contribute insights to product improvements.
  • Analytical mindset and detail-oriented, with an ability to triage bugs effectively and advocate for high-priority fixes.
  • Intermediate English speaking skills, level B2 or greater.
  • Experience in mobile testing across iOS/Android platforms, with a strong understanding of cross-platform testing challenges and best practices.
  • Database usage proficiency, with the ability to write and execute queries to support comprehensive testing efforts.
  • Comfortable using Test Management Tools, Bug Trackers, and tools like Firebase, GitHub, Figma, and Postman.
  • Eagerness to grow in automation testing; prior experience is a bonus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
What You’ll Enjoy
  • Market-Leading Salary and Perks: Enjoy a market-leading compensation package that reflects your talent and contributions.
  • Collaborate in an Inspiring Environment: Join a small, agile, and dynamic engineering team that encourages innovation and creativity.
  • Unlimited PTO and Flexible Work Schedule: Embrace a healthy work-life balance with our unlimited paid time off policy and flexible schedule options.
