We are currently looking for a Central Asia Director to lead and develop our export operations in the region, with a particular focus on expanding our presence in Azerbaijan and surrounding markets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international trade, proven sales experience, and a deep understanding of the wine distribution landscape in Central Asia.
Responsibilities:
Lead all operations of Purcari Wineries Group in Central Asia, with a primary focus on the Azerbaijan market.
Develop and implement strategic plans for the existing brands and potential new market entries within the region.
Expand and diversify the network of importers in key markets while managing and nurturing relationships with existing key local importers and customers.
Work closely with local partners to enhance brand execution, ensuring strong distribution, visibility at points of sale (POS), and competitive pricing strategies in both on-trade and off-trade channels.
Monitor market trends, from product portfolio and pricing to route-to-market (RTM) and propose actions to capitalize on these trends.
Provide guidance on the development and execution of Above The Line (ATL) and Below The Line (BTL) communication strategies to strengthen brand visibility and positioning.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven sales experience in the FMCG or beverages sector.
Established network within the wine distribution industry, ideally with key retail partners.
In-depth knowledge of both the on-trade and off-trade markets in Azerbaijan and Central Asia.
Strong ability to collaborate with local distributors and improve focus and execution through exceptional customer service.
Comfortable working across different countries and cultures, with the flexibility to adapt to local market dynamics.
Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
Fluent in English; proficiency in Russian and/or local languages is a plus.
Availability for frequent travel across the region.
