Job description
Perform all duties related to the procurement of goods and services specific to the requirements of the project. This position requires a proactive and very detail-oriented person who excels in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives
- Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery
- Solicit quotes for materials and services (labor)
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price
- Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers
- Requisition checks/wire transfers to be sent to vendors for payments necessary to process orders and, authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation
- Expedite orders to be delivered to designate warehouse according to the project schedule
- Verify receipt of items at the designated warehouse in preparation for installation
- Schedule and coordinate delivery of product according to the project schedule
- 1 or 2 years purchasing experience (but not mandatory)
- Strong Computer skills in Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- English is mandatory, Italian is a plus
